MICROENCAPSULATION OF BIFIDOBACTERIUM LACTIS Bi-07 WITH GALACTOOLIGOSACCHARIDES USING CO-EXTRUSION TECHNIQUE

Probiotics play an important role in human gut health. However, it remains a challenge to maintain the viability of probiotics throughout gastrointestinal transit. Hence, this study aimed microencapsulate Bifidobacterium lactis Bi-07 with galactooligosaccharides (GOS) using co-extrusion technique. Optimization calcium chloride (1.0% w/v 3.0% w/v) and GOS concentration 5.0% were performed encapsulation B. based on bead size microencapsulation efficiency.
